Don Henley is an ass hat. He only cares about how rich he can be. He doesn't care about you, me or anybody but himself. The Eagles are a money machine. I remember buying tickets for their show in 1994. It was billed as your one shot to see them reunited. "Hell freezes Over" they called it. You better grab a ticket while you can. I paid $99.00 for each of my tickets for my girlfriend and I. It was an absurd amount of money back then for a concert, but hey....it was going to be one tour, my only chance. Well Jesus, it's now 2024.......30 freakin' yrs later, AND THEY'RE STILL TOURING!! Their "one off" tour generated so much money, they figured......excellent....let's scrape this for all it's worth, and when we get old, we'll just use pre recorded vocals. People will be in awe at how great we sound in our 70's. Gullible twatwaffles.

There has recently been analysis of Eagles concert footage showing without a doubt that Don Henley is performing to a pre-recorded voice track. I am sure this new policy at concerts is a direct response to that.

This is what I don't get... Eagles fans are mostly the older generations. When they die, the Eagles will be forgotten. He is literally preventing younger generations from listening to his music, therefor causing him to lose out on money from younger generations who will never even know the Eagles exist.

It's a move centered on greed and not the love of music or the inspiration it brings to others. You're still losing money in the end paying the salaries of 60 people for something that is only ensuring the slow death of your art. But Don wants the cash so oh well, good for him I guess. It's a shame.

I have to disagree with you here. The fact is when you buy a ticket you are subject to abide by certain rules. And we all know how protective artists are of their work and I am sure they do not want others profiting off of posting the concerts and so on. Just playing devils advocate here. Whether we agree or disagree with the ask from the band, the ticket holder can make decision at that moment to either listen and enjoy your experience or take the risk of security enforcing the rule, and your night and experience being ruined. I also believe thats a major issue in society right now, is there is a massive lack of accountability. I mean it was pretty simple, enjoy the concert or take the risk of being hassled. It really doesn't matter if we think the band is full of it for even asking the audience to not record. People's own interest seem to get in the way of just following the rules. Dude from Sum41 made his call and then had to deal with HIS CHOICE.

I hear what you're saying, but treating a fan like a terrorist is ridiculous. This is 2024. People film everything. It's ego and nothing more. I've gone to smaller venues of signed artists, taken out my phone to film a solo I love right at the stage, and had the guitarist come right up to me, lean down, and play away smiling at me so I could get the ultimate shot. THAT will live with me forever, not some old shit who uses pre recorded vocals and threatens. Silly.

One the one hand this practice of sending security after people with phones in the audience is par for the course these days. It happened at all of the last 4 or 5 concerts I’ve attended (in the past 3 years). It puts a damper on the experience, but it is what it is, I guess. (Just like seated shows and dynamic pricing, two other marvels of modern concerts.) On the other hand, Henley may have an ulterior motive here, as he got caught lip syncing his vocals during this latest tour. People found out about it, of course, THANKS TO UA-cam. Turned out his vocals are identical night after night after night, and we now have the video to prove it. That’s how he sounds so amazing in his 70s. He’s probably embarrassed about the whole affair, as he should be. Imagine spending $250 a person to hear Don Henley lip sync his parts. It’s unconscionable. Just retire already.

I used to listen to the Mark and Brian radio show on KLOS religiously. I remember them having Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo as studio guests. It was right around the time of the Napster trial. Pat and Neil were asked how they felt about the whole Napster/downloading thing. Pat replied, "Download all you want, when we're in town come buy a ticket". I LOVED her/them for that. Don Henley could learn a lot.

Rush or Muse. There is another 3 piece that has been getting a lot of attention lately, The Warning (Hard Rock, 3 sisters from Mexico), who are about the same age as Asterism. Excellent control of the sonic space, but a very different feel than Asterism (The Warning are huge Muse fans, they do their own thing, but sometimes the Muse influence is strong). If you were interested a good starting point for The Warning is "Evolve" live at the MTV 2023 VMAs ua-cam.com/video/lPLM7z-av7g/v-deo.html And to tie this back to Canada, The Warning are one of the influences of a young band out of Kelowna BC, Freeze The Fall. Hon, just subbed, I have loved Prince since the 70s, I was 14/15 back in 78/79. And I fell head over heels and I knew he was like no other a true one of a kind. And I want to tell you this about him... and even he himself said it often, and that is it was God who made it possible to do what he could do... it was the Lord working through that man shining through him. He did the unthinkable where do you think it all came from? I realize when we die here people think op well its over there gone that's the end of that... Right? Wrong. I'm gonna take this to a very different place now... When Prince left this realm the Lord showed me things, I'm a born again believer have heard the voice of the Lord since I was a child and the Lord has shown me many many things over the last 18 years, that's when the Lord called to me, but the one thing that the Lord showed me and told me was that Prince went home to Him. Its a way way longer story then that but lets just leave it there for the time being. You may be out of your body when you leave here but the YOU that IS YOU your still very much alive and Prince is very much alive trust me on that. I want to say this about Prince too... As magnificent as Prince was as an artist hes an even better man and most people stop at his artistry but they seem to miss the man underneath all of that artistry. And when I was growing up I took up guitar lessons, but I had too many home distractions to really focus on what I was doing when I went to my lessons. How good or bad I was I cant say but there were 2 things that maybe stood out at least to me anyway one I did play by ear a bit it was smoke on the water maybe everyone can do that the other thing was my teacher told me ok you play lead and I'll follow. I started to play and he said wo wo wo I thought I was doing something wrong he said no but here I am all this time trying to teach you how to play rock and roll and here you are a blues player... lol I am??? Well I've always loved R&B and Soul so.... I have 2 guitars here and my first guitar is in storage, must be sawdust by now, but I would love to play again just dont know if I can cause I suffer from neuropathy in my fingers they hurt some ok more then some and I never forgot the pain those strings caused me too it might be worse now. I nearly had my ring finger all the way L angled back. Do you think I should just forget that idea now? Or should I try? Do you teach? There a charge? Either way great video I thank you for it. If I had money I'd do the patron thing. Peace.

Its funny you mentioned Loudness because Haruka (Hal-Ca) decided to pick up guitar after watching a Loudness concert when she was 10, and by 13 she was writing some amazing sh*t! You can see a lot of Akira Takasaki's influence in her play in the way she picks and taps...Not gonna lie, Its a little weird watching Miyu play a bass without a fret board that's as wide as a cutting board LOL. As far as Loudness goes, they're obviously one of the major metal influences in their homeland. The song "Loudness" is pretty much a metal guitar anthem in Japan. I highly recommend watching their [40th Anniversary Live] stream from I think '21. It was a great show, Takasaki is just incredible! Actually the whole band is, Masayoshi is an extremely underrated bassist and Minoru is well over 60 and can still belt like he did in the 80's. That concert has the best version of "Metal Mad" I've heard and most importantly, the camera stays on Akira during the important parts (no panning to someone's feet during a solo🙄). Definitely a must watch, especially for a guitar lover. Here's a link to the 1st part, the show is split into 5 videos but the rest of the links are easy to find ua-cam.com/video/fZcGHnZLBnk/v-deo.htmlsi=R7h5u_5Uz5sNHkgp

Saki plays Japanese brand Killer guitars. Killer is a company co-founded by Akira Takasaki and distributed by ESP. If you compare earlier Loudness videos to the most recent ones, you'll notice Akira's iconic red ESP Random Star is the same style as his current signature Killer models, with the exception of the cool looking spear headstock on the Killer model. The brand name Killer comes from how Japanese like to have fun with the way they mispronounce their "L"s in a way that comes out sounding like an "R". So saying killer comes out sounding like kirra, which becomes a play on Takasaki's first names A(kira). I've heard it was from hearing himself described as "a killer" guitarist (a kirra guitarist), but can't say for certain. In any case, Saki is the only artist endorsed by Killer guitars (gives you an idea of her skill level); with her signature 7 string Empress model. Nemophila does have an older cover of Loudness' "Crazy Doctor" where in the video Saki is plays a signature Takasaki Killer Random Star, which I believe was gifted by Akira. When Nemo toured with Loudness 4 years ago they would play "Crazy Doctor" together as an encore, and Saki and Akira would twin lead the solo, which again gives you an idea of her skill level because you can't eff up. Then most recently, Nemo did a cover of "Crazy Nights" as a 4 piece after Saki left the band, and in a recent summer tour with Loudness, Hazuki plays the "Crazy Nights" solo twin lead with Akira. As for Hazuki, she's Ibanez endorsed and a technical wizard. You can get a good sense of her skill level in a few Ibanez videos where she's demoing her signature Ibanez products by playing technical Vai like instrumentals.

I don't like phones at concerts either BUT it's the 21st century - times change. Just be respectful and don't hold the phone above your head and it is fine. Fancams can actually help smaller bands get exposure on the internet and bigger bands are big enough where it isn't going to hurt them. Plus rumors are going around that Henley is lip syncing to some of his songs (I wonder if that is the real motivation for no cameras).

Reminds me of the time when Metallica sued their fans for downloading mp3's from NAPSTER. This was AFTER Metallica already made a billion dollars. I lost all respect for them at that point. My rule is this: you NEVER hassle or sue your fans. PERIOD. Your fans are the reason you EXIST. Some artists and labels understand this. Will fans go overboard and cross the line once in awhile? Yeah. It happens. But the majority of the fans will be respectful. There will always be some bad apples in every bunch. This is the price of fame and fortune. Deal with it, or find something else to do with your life. I won't support any band that goes after their fans. Leave the fans alone. Technology is the genie in the bottle. Once you let it out, you can't put it back in. You have to accept it, and work with it. Try to use it to your advantage. Don't blame the fans because they use technology.

@@RussianNightmare I don't disagree with you. But it's really bad PR to sue your fans. Sometimes you gotta let it go. Like I said, it's technology. A lot of those fans who were making mp3's already bought those albums. So they are supporting the band. It's good to have mp3's to play in your car, or your portable music device. I don't like playing CD's in my car, because I don't want to get them all scratched up.

i remember going to shows in the 90s, and a lot of bands had strict "no camera" policies. if you got caught with one, you'd have to either get rid of it or leave. (to be fair, they were much more strict with video cameras and the like than they were with crappy disposable still-frames) so naturally, i figured out real quick that if i wore long-pants and tucked it in to my sock, i'd be good to go. i'd get my dozen or 2 shots (very quick and carefully so as to not get caught .... cheap film cameras didn't even need time to focus) , and now i had something for my scrapbook to show my friends. while i can understand bands not wanting vids getting posted on the internet, the genie is already out of the bottle, and it ain't going back in. and like the dude from Sum41 said, if it's that big a deal, pay for the service that locks up e'body's phone. (if he can afford an entire platoon of full-time internet snoops, then he can certainly afford that) really all Don is doing is making sure that he and his music die in obscurity. this really contrasts sharply with a video i recently saw of The Warning talking about the first time they saw counterfeit merch being sold outside one of the venues they were playing .... they were ecstatic at the idea that they were a big enough deal that people were willing to pay for fake merch 🤣🤣🤣 "that's how you know you've made it 🥳"
